This little chocolate cake is the smartbowl team’s favorite recipe–by far.  Dead simple and absolutely addictive, this cake has the perfect texture and flavor for every chocolate lover.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon coffee, instant
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 extra large eggs, room temperature
  • ice cream or plain Greek yogurt (optional)
Directions
  1. Put chocolate chips and butter in a large smartbowl™. Place the lid on the smartbowl, seal the lid, and press valve to release air. Microwave for 30 seconds.
  2. Remove smartbowl from microwave and stir until chocolate and butter are incorporated. If more time is needed to melt the ingredients, add additional cooking time in 15-second increments.
  3. Once the chocolate and butter are blended, add sugar, vanilla, coffee, flour, and eggs. Stir until smooth.
  4. Place the lid on the smartbowl, seal the lid, and press valve to release air. Microwave for 3.5  minutes.
  5. Remove smartbowl from the microwave and let stand for 2 minutes. Serve warm, with or without ice cream or plain Greek yogurt.
