This gift from the American South is perfect for  game day and much easier to prepare than you expect.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups peanuts, fresh, raw, in their shells (green peanuts)
  • water
  • 1 teaspoon Southwestern Spice Blend
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ Tablespoon salt
Directions
  1. Soak peanuts overnight in a large smartbowl™, with water to cover, shaking once or twice to make sure all peanuts get soaked in water.
  2. To make: drain the smartbowl™, discarding water. Return the peanuts to your smartbowl™, add spices and submerge in water one more. Press the valve to release air and microwave about 6 minutes. Add time in 2 minute intervals, if you prefer softer peanuts. Once done, let stand, covered, for about 5 minutes.
  3. Serve in spiced water, or strain and serve- either way, make sure you enjoy this snack in one or two days.
